Centre for Employment & Learning
- Employment services
- Youth programs
Find all your employment and educational services under one roof. Almost all services are FREE, funded through various government programs.
Upgrade math or language skills, basic computer skills, or prepare for your GED exam with assistance from our literacy practitioners or online through www.learninghub.ca. We offer English as a Second Language classes to newcomers or to those who have lived in Canada for decades. Earn your high school diploma or upgrade credits for college or university. Credits can be earned through correspondence courses or co-op placements.
We assist people in finding and / or improving employment, preparing job applications, resumes, or portfolios, and excelling in interviews. You may qualify for funding to help cover job search costs, including interview clothes, required items for a new job, and mileage. Learn about funding options for education or skills training, including the Second Career program. We offer paid employment preparation programs for youth, ages 15-29, which include placements with local employers.
Local businesses will be interested in Financial Hiring Incentives for both youth and adults, Apprenticeship Hiring Bonuses, and the Canada - Ontario Job Grant (up to $15,000 per employee to assist with the costs of maintaining your team’s competitive edge - subject to program guidelines). We also assist with recruiting and job postings. Come in and see what the Centre for Employment and Learning can offer you.
